I am in the market for an original WWII carbine. Before I buy, I need to get an education. Can anyone recommend a book or two? Is there good info available on the net somewhere? Any info will be greatly appreciated.

There must be a manufacturer's mark on it somewhere. I assume you are talking about the wire stock. Probably one of those deals that comes as a set. The universal wire stock you mention is non-collapsible. I have looked at Cabela's, Sportsman's Guide, Cheaper Than Dirt and Midway catalogs and have come up empty. This, at least, can narrow your search.

ak47-sks,I believe your stock was an aftermarket add-on, so it wouldn't be listed in Gun Parts. What's worse, I don't think they have been made in a while.I suggest posting on "Wanted" boards asking about parts. Good luck.
