Laminated Stocks
I'm building a varmint rig, and had ordered a stock from Elk Ridge, but had some trouble along the line. Does anyone know of a place I could get a benchrest stock, with at least a 3" forearm, and a thumbhole, with a high comb. Any help would be greatly appreciated. P.S. I would not recommend Elk Ridge to anyone. Their customer service stinks.

I am not sure about bench rest configured stocks but Boyds builds some nice laminates. Take a look at www.boydboys.com 0 -
http://www.rifle-stocks.com/ I haven't bought one but they look like they have quite a selection. 0 -
www.wenig.com is another good source

Several years ago, when building Ferguson flintlock rifles, I needed a thicker-than-standard laminated stock blank. RUTLAND PLYWOOD specially made two blanks with 2-7/8 or 3-inch thickness. Normally, the thickest they make is 2-1/2 inches. A California firm offered to glue two stock blanks together for me, but I did not believe this was a solution to my needs. I doubt if it solves your problem either. 0 -
There is a person on this forum that goes by the "handle" of budreaux39 and I know from his posts that he builds stocks. If he can't help you out -- then I suspect he knows who can. His e-mail is sdv7771@cox-internet.com. 0
