problem with ithaca Mag-10

I just bought it this summer.every once in awhile it will leave the empty shell in the barrel.Wecleaned it once,can clean it again or could it be something else?I am using rem.steel #2's

  Things to check:1.Extractor,.., shape, and free movement. Compare rim shouldn't be bent, or ripped.2.OAL of fired shell. Should be 3.5" no more. If longer hull is pulling out of brass, and sticks in chamber.3.Measure unfired brass/hull OD's.Might find some oversized. If chamber is "tight" they can stick.

  had the same problem..take the barrel off then remove the c clip from the gas port,clean that good and you will be ok for the hunt,you will need to do this after each hunt.ithe ithaca dont like steel shot,you can also have the gas port enlarged they say to take care of the steel shot problem.let me know if this helps yours
