Browning A5
A friend of mine has a 1972 Browning A5 12 gauge with a vented rib, he says it was made in Belgium. It is new in the box has never been shot and assembled only twice. He is the original owner and has kept it in storage disassembled ever since he got it.What would it be worth? Thanks!

Hi to all
I have a browning a5 light 20 Jap,grade 1, Vent rib, with a 26" skeet tube that is still in plastic wrappings in the original box. It seems to be new and was purchased in 1980. Can you tell me value as i am helping a widow of a close friend.
Thanks

Sounds like you got a good deal, need a serial number to give you more information....most used ones I've seen range from $350-$700+ 0 -
Dang good deal! There should be "star or stars" stamped on the barrel which tells you the type of choke and it should say 2 3/4" or 3". You can go to the Browning website and get a free owners manual. 0 -
Tideman, you may have bought a very old Browning. For years, maybe since production began, they have used stars and - marks to indicate choke. I have never seen one marked with the word "full". It may be a standard weight rather than a light twelve. The standard weight will have a blued trigger and is worth less. Post the serial number here and I am sure someone can provide more info for you. 0
