Let me first say that im not a gunsmith, that being said I have looked up the parts you may or maynot need. Here ya go!!Item Part # CostMainspring 72100 $4.70Mainspring Rod 71840 $5.50Mainspring Rod Pin 445110 $1.60Mainspring Rod Washer 71850 $1.80Firing Pin 384330 $20.75These are through www.e-gunparts.com I would think that replacing the firing pin, which could be worn, and the mainspring should fix it. Keep in mind however im not a smith. Hope this helps

got the same problem with my model 41. The f/p spring seems to have plenty of tension, the f/p is not peened or worn ,and there are no obstructions or dirt to slow it down. Still, ignition is a sometimes thing. The bolt on this rifle is a real bugger to reassemble after you take it apart too. Can't remember the specifics because it has been a few years since I wrestled with it, but I do remember that it was tough. Also bear in mind that the used parts that you get from GPC may not be any better than what you have now. It might be worth experimenting with different brands of ammo to see if any brand is more easily lit off than others. I have put this beautiful rifle on the back burner for the time being, until that mythical day comes when I have time to sort out it's problem.

There may be a small, almost insignificant burr either on the chamber mouth or inside the chamber. This can be caused from dry firing (chamber mouth) or from cleaning with some types of metal rod (inside chamber). Either way, if ignition is a sometimes thing with quality ammo the case rim may not be completely against the chamber face and some of the impact energy of the firing pin is spent pushing the case against the chamber.
