HK USP COMPACT
I recently purchased the HK 45 compact for myself and the HK 40 compact for my wife. I love them both and we plan to use them as our carry guns. My question is while cleaning these guns are there parts to keep my eye on that may be prone to wear? I would like any info you can share. Thanks for your time.May the Lord protect or troops!!! Amen!!!

Several years ago,I ran about 13K+ rds in my HK in a span of 13-14 months and have noticed no signs of wear on any parts, and not to mention absolutely 0% jams & misfires. As for the Compact models, I'm not so sure. Currently, I have a little over 2K rds. on my 40c and it still looks fresh out of the box from the inside. The only part that might be worth looking into would possibly be the barrel erosion...you did buy an HK!-Smooth

The USP's are virtually indestructable. Veryminor maintenance required. 0 -
When they originally hit the market, the USP's did have a guide rod problem. Some of them were breaking the rod after shooting heavy loads. HK recalled them and installed the new rod at no charge. Since then, the USP has had no problems what so ever. Actually, the internal desing is part of what makes it not wear as much as other pistols. I beleive the only ones with the problem were in the low serial #'s. I got the first one in my area, that's why it had to go back. They are a FINE Fine piece. Enjoy. 0
