Yet another PA-63 question
One more thing I would like to ask the experts: on the last round, my slide is supposed to stay open, yes? Often it does not. There is a little piece of metal which fits into the left side of the frame which apparently is supposed to do the job; it doesn't. Tell me, is this piece actuated by a spring which is missing from my gun, or does the pressure of the clip actuate it? Seems like I got the bottom of the barrel PA63. :-(

The magazine is the culprit. Make sure it is seated FIRMLY into the frame.

Jonk,I had the same problem with a Pa63 I purchased from a friend. It wouldn't extract, lock open on an empty or nudge out the magazine. The problem was the slide stop and slide stop spring was missing. The spring fits between the groove in the stop and the overlapping edge of the frame. You are correct, the spring tension provides a slight push against the magazine. It won't drop free but it will definitely be easier to paw. I like AntiqueDr's suggestion though, if the slide is locking back, try a different magazine.Munkey
