Best stock Bell&Carlson bedded or H.S.Prec Sporter
Of these two stocks, which stock would be the better performer? A Bell & Carlson (may or may not bed) or a H.S.Precision Sporter. This will replace the cheap Remington stock on a 700 adl.

Both will perform about equally. My preference is the HS. RG 0 -
ditto rg666, I got 3 of em. I like the way they feel better than B&C 0 -
Performance will mainly depend on how you shoot, and how the gun is bedded.Hold both, decide which one will most suit your shooting style. Just my 2 cents. 0 -
AA matter of personal preference, and manbe finances. Both are excellent. 0 -
The H/S sporter is really designed for a magnum long action. H/S creates one stock for both the standard long action and magnum long action. As a result the barrel channel and recoil lug area is too large for a standard long action. I purchased an H/S for my 700 in .280 and didn't like the fit. I talked to H/S and they said the bedding block would hold the recever in place, but I just didn't like the large gaps on each side of my barrel. I sent it back for a refund and purchased the McMillian that was made for just a standard long action(McMillian makes a different model for each the standard and magnum long action. It fits great and my gun shoots real well. 0
