"cheaper 700 classic" help on this one!!

As noted for the 700 classic post I have a Rem. Model 700 Classic on hold, and mbrook posted that they made a cheaper model out of birch with a matte finish has anyone heard of these? Did they infact make 2 model 700 classics? as I cannont find any info on the remington site. As always you help is highly reguarded!!

  I don`t know anything about a cheaper version....but if it is in birch,I wouldn`t give them $250. for it!!!But if it is the real deal Holyfield,it`s a real deal indeed!!!.218

  The closest I came was a Model 700 ls birch laminate low luster finish in a classic monte carlo styling, the true Classic's I looked at and the information I found does not show a Model 700 Classic with birch, only walnut with a satin finish. I hope this helps.
