PA-63 feed problem
Everyone praises these guns for digesting any ammo fed into them, but I have had another experience. I have tried three brands of ammo, including handloads, and all show the same problem. Generally the round feeds off of the magazine fine, but when chambering, the slide doesn't close all the way. About a 16th of an inch of brass is visisble, and a firm rap on the back of the slide is needed to finish chambering the round. The next round does the same thing. This happens every shot with Wolf ammo, about half the time with brass case ammo. I tried the easiest solution, giving everything a good cleaning and oiling. Any guesses?

Its most likely a weak spring. Be sure to take ofd the slide and try manually slipping the bullet into the barrel. As long as it slips in easily with no major effort you should be ok.Ps. Also try switching mags. It might be you have an unsually grabby mag.[This message has been edited by thesupermonkey (edited 11-06-2001).] 0
