Spanish 12 ga What is it worth?
About 25 years ago I purchased a 12 ga side by side shotgun made in spain by Zamacola Hermanous (Marca "Jabali" Registrada) I used it a few times for skeet but it has been sitting in the nice leather case it came in for 20 years. I would like to sell it but don't have a clue as to the current value. Have any of you heard of this maker and what price might I ask for it?

If you place it up for auction on this site, would you please e-mail me? I would like to get a look at it, and perhaps place a bid on it.AdamsQuailHunteradamsqua@bellsouth.net 0 -

It seems to me you are referring to a Zabala Hermanos made near Eibar, Spain. I personally like the shotguns because they are cheap and look nice. I am going to buy a s/s 10 gauge from a friend. I know they have a web site if you search hard enough. From what I can tell you they are a nice field grade shotgun at best. Most 12 gauges I see go for around $250. Depending on what you have it could be more or less. Makes a good turkey gun. Hope this helps. 0 -
Zamacola Hermanos is an "extinguished gunmaker", see this link:
http://web.jet.es/apraiz/b_punzones_extintos.html
Their higher grades were side by side doubles with detachable sidelocks with cocking indicators and selective ejectors. The sidelocks were color case hardened and engraved with gold inlay.
Every time I have taken mine to the club someone has offered to buy it. I haven't sold it yet and the price has well exceeded $250.
