Good moderate duty hunting rifle. Not a benchrest target rifle. Not designed to fire thousands upon thousands of rounds. Made as a hunting rifle and very good for that purpose. 0 -
SUGGEST YOU INVEST IN A BETTER RIFLE- BROWNING OR AN OLD WINCHESTER 100. I, AND G. SMITH FRIEND OF MINE HAVE SEEN TOO MANY FAILURES - LATEST WED. NITE IN 30.06 HAD THE EXTRACTOR RING MISSING - POPPED OFF IN FIRING AND NOT FOUND. EJECTION PROBLEMS MORE COMMON. BELIEVE THAT THESE WERE NOT ACTUALLY REM.PRODUCTION BUT CONTRACT MFG. 0 -
I've owned two of them one in 30-06 the other in 308, kept them clean and never had any trouble out of either of them hope this helps 0 -
I have one in .308. Killed some deer and a bear or two with it. As was said, it HAS to be kept clean. My gunsmith says he makes a good living fixing broken ones as the owners don't ckean the chamber area and internal rails that the bolt rides on. Also, had to get the split bolt replaced when I bought it... factory defect. Not much of a factory that doesn't test fire its product. (I still have that split bolt, after all these years, to remind me to be careful even when buying "new") 0
