Tec 9
HELLO MY FRIENDS:
I OWN 2 TECS AND LOVE THEM. WHY DID THE ATF/CLINTON CABAL STOP THE MANUFACTURE OF THESE GREAT GUNS? I'VE BEEN TOLD IT'S BECAUSE OF THE NUMBER OF THEM THAT FELL INTO CRIMINAL HANDS, OTHERES SAY IT WAS BECAUSE OF THE EASE WITH WHICH THEY COULD BE CONVERTED TO FULL AUTO. DOES ANYONE KNOW THE REAL STORY? ARE THE MORE RECENT REPLACEMENTS AS GOOD A WEAPON? THANK YOU FOR YOUR INPUT.

From looking at the parts diagram the Tec 9 doesn't have a firing pin spring, just the striker spring. Am I correct? 0 -
You do realize two things, I hope. One, the TEC9 and the M/11 9mm use the same thread style so the accessories interchange. Two, silencers, (real silencers), are tightly controlled items and you need a special tax permit with FBI background checks to own them. The real thing is also quite expensive as I understand. The fake ones are only $35-40 however. 0 -
i recall that a good supressor is up into the thousands now....plus you must register it with the BATF. Class III if im not mistaken 0 -
Good suppressors are in the $400-$700 range plus the $200 tax stamp.cpermd 0 -
Check into an issue of Guns magazine from last year, there is an article about a guy who has built the best silencer in years usin what is known as the "Out of Phase effect". His has something like 200 individual welds inside on multiple baffles. He offered to produce the silencers for the Navy Seals in Desert Storm at cost. He was ex-militay and did it as a patriotic favor to his country. I just looked it up, July2000 issue. His name is Phil Seberger, and the article says his silencers quite a .308 bolt action so well, that you can hear the firing pin strike the primer!!! Just go to a class III firearms dealer and ask him to get out his books, I am sure you will be able to find more than one silencer for you gun. FYI $450 was the cost for a .22 silencer last I checked, you can expect to be in the $600-$1000 range. 0 -
I think you are reffering to the barrel extensions offered for these when they were produced. It is not actually a silencer. I saw one on www.gunclassifieds.com used for $40
I spent all my money on guns, women, and beer. The rest I just wasted.wiredog70@hotmail.com0 -
It looks cool, but is totally useless. 0 -
