I got a chance to buy a Taurus in .357 sig caliber. Can anyone tell me a little about this caliber. I really know nothing at all about it.

I recently converted my Glock 27 from .40 to 357sig. I am very happy with the results. The recoil is less with the .357sig, but the hitting power is greater. The .357sig is 400 fps faster than the .40. I don't think that I will be changing back.
Guns don't kill people, it's the bullets, stupidI am the NRA, the KABA, NJ Area Rep for the 2ampd, and the AARP :(Spadesfalcon@aol.com

    The .357 Sig is a .40 S&W case necked down to accept a 9mm bullet. .357 Sig ammo uses a .40 S&W magazine.

I have a Glock 31 in .357 sig, just watch your OAl on the round and you'll love this caliber, Has more velocity than the 40 or the 9 and more energy than the .45, based on published data, I almost sold this gun and now I would never part with it, it is a great caliber and a great gun, Mine likes the 147 gr bullets, hates the 125's anyone else notice this?

I have the Sig P226 in .357 and it is devastating. This round penetrates the ballistic gel as far as a .357 mag. Power is great for such a small cartridge. Mine likes the speer gold dots @ I beleive 125gr, not sure. I have also found this to be a very accurate caliber compared to other auto cartridges. Anybody else seeing this?

I have a Glock 23. Do I need anything else besides a >357 sig barrel to convert? Do you recomend a stronger spring or guide rod? Who makes the best conversion barrel? Thanks

4000fps, How do you like the sport? thought about getting one myself. I have handled the P220 as well in .45. Shoots like a dream.

I didn't really read what the other guys said, I'm just going to start from base. The .357sig is a .40s&w case necked down with a short neck and sharp sholder. It was intended for making an auto which could achive the ballistics of the .357mag.It spits a 125gr JHP @ 1350fps with 505ftlbs. Compared to the .357mag 125gr JHP @ 1450fps with 583fps.I like that in many guns chambered for the .357sig, you have the option of converting it to a .40s&w just by changing out the barrel.
