Best 40 S&W Round
I have a Glock 23. What is the best round for self protection? What is the best for practice? I have been told that 180gr is best. Then again I have read that some of these rounds are causing KB in several guns, mine included. Can some one clear the air on this one.

The Remington Golden Sabers have outstanding characteristics. I would highly recommend them. RG 0 -

Thanks for the help. I visited the site mentioned. I will finish up my stash of 180gr. The site also stated that 155 and 165 have a KB issue with the Glocks. Geee it is a Glock 23 I have. I guess I should find a better gun. Wait a minute. I thought Glock was a better gun. What gives with these claims? 0 -
What is KB? 0 -
KB= Kaboom. When a round ruptures and explodes in the gun. http://communities.prodigy.net/sportsrec/gz-glock-kb.html [This message has been edited by ED P (edited 10-23-2001).] 0 -
Corbon +P's are great, and the Fedral Hydra-Shocks are next. I would hessitate to use either in a Glock. Go to www.greent.com , go to "calibers", then go to the "Misc. Topics" at the bottom of the page and look at the kb data on Glocks.

Hornady custom pistol ammo, I use only Hornady, I have some Hydra Shoks that did not expand in a gelatin test if anyone wants proof as to why I won't use Hydra Shoks, I thinks I stll have 3 or 4 rounds and these were the personal defense ammo, only marks are the rifling marks from the barrel.

I starting using "ProLoad" ammunition in all of my carry guns. I made the switch after testing some of their 9mm and .357 rounds. 0 -

you guys have got me worried...I've been using Winchester 180 GR BEB and 180 GR JHP in my S&W 410. I have about 500 rds on hand, should I just dispose of these rounds?Hey D, Clarify something for me... You say "Corbon +P's are great...", but the greent site says "There is no such thing as .40S&W +p! Period. No exceptions."
I can't think of anything right now.Member: ~Secret Select Society of Suave Stylish Smoking Jackets~0 -
Whoa, this thread was worth the price of admission & then some. As someone who reloads and has a .40 Glock, it was a major eye opener. Certainly will change my approach to using this combo. **DEEPEST** appreciation to those responding with this important data & links. 0
