    H&R, .308 gives longer range, more versatility and ammo is cheaper and easier to come by.Just one mans opinion.Hell, buy 'em both !

    I have all three, buy the 25-06 first,26" barrel, great accurate gun, then the .308, 22" barrel, the the 1895, I love them all three, but why not just go ahead and get the .450 Marlin as well and have 2 complete sets.

    I have an H & R .25-06 and I love it, but if you're not into reloading, the .308 is the best bet.
