U.S. Army Commemorative .45
Requesting information and value of an Auto- Ordnance Corp. U.S. Army Commemorative .45 pistol model 1911A-1 manufacturered in 1998.This is a selectively Gold plated model in pristine condition and sealed in a Walnut display case. It has never, to my knowledge, been handled with un-gloved hands, never been fired other then post-manufacturerers test firing pryor to applying ingraving and finishing.There were 1911 of this particular issue manufactured.It comes with lanyard, clip, two pair of inspection gloves, and all paperwork in a 1911A-1 .45 auto walnut lockable presentation case.Any information will be appreciated and if anyone requires additional information, please E-mail.MrMel

MrMel,You have a pistol that cost quite a bit new, but unless you find someone who wants it as a collectible, I'm afraid that the previous response was about right. Those "collector" gold plated pistols that are sold don't seem to have a large demand. Personally, I think they are downright gaudy and would not pay $100 for one.Those are the kind of guns that tend to stay with the original owner because they are hard to sell and durn near impossible to sell at a price that would come close to what was paid for it in the first place. 0 -

Thank you for the replies. I suspected as much. It was given to me as a present for a deed that I preformed.I've always felt that a firearm that you couldn't shoot was a piece of useless scrap iron. This is going to be the 'prettiest' target pistol on our fieing range. If it shoots well, I can always use it for home defense.Thank you again,MrMel 0
