AR15 Sight Adjustment

It's really a hassle to correct the problem at little cost because the front sight base is double pinned to the barrel. To knock out the pins, shift the sight and reream the holes is a messy job and the gas ports in sight and barrel will be misaligned. If it bothers you enough, the cost effective fix might be to buy a new barrel and a fixture with wrench and then auction off the old barrel and fixture. Check Bushmaster site for the receiver holding fixture and wrench. It's an easy job if you have a good vise.

You can buy an adjustable front sight from BM or DPMS.Oversize pins and redrilling are also an option. If you have a barrel wrench, sometimes all you need to do is move the barrel 1 degree and that solves it all quickly and cheaply.cpermd

Just didn't want to forget to say thanks, to both of you! I think I'll try the barrel wrench.
