norinco m97 quality
Would appreciate hearing from any owner/user of a Norinco M97, as it regards fit, finish and reliability. Am considering one for home defense. Also, can slings be attached? Thanks

Saw one in a gunshop last nite....did not look like a cheap POS surprisingly. I like the exposed hammer idea...however when I racked the slide it almost took the skin off the top web of my hand. I would not recommend this shotgun if you have big hands. JMHO regards swede

Dear Mr. Sweade. Your comment brought back some painful memories. I carried a M97 in Viet-Nam as out gun of choice on the aircraft. I had never seen or fired one but the First Sergeant (a spiteful bastard) said it was like firing a .22. Said here son, this is what you need. Took it to the range and loaded four full brass OO buck. Bang, actually BOOM! Got up, brushed myself off and tried to get the web of meat from between the hammer and stock. Big hands little hands its gonna bite your ass no matter what you do. Other than that I would dearly love to have one again in the WW1 Trench Gun configuration.($2000 is average price in VA.) Wasn't much for range, but the VC wouldn't come near a shotgun of any make. Still have that damn scare! 0
