Whats a decent price for a concealed carry class? I want to give the class to someone as a present but don't want to get ripped off. 0 -
#72Go to the website: http://www.packing.org/state/wisconsin/ It has a good state by state informational website about everything you'll want to know about Concealed Carry Permits. How to get one for your state, who to see, what numbers to call, etc. Also it will tell you which states will honor your CCW permit. It looks that Wisconsin doesn't allow CCW permits, but I have heard that if your state will not issue Concealed Carry Permits, then you can go to Texas and get one. This is something I have read in the www.packing.org website: "Texas will issue Conceal Handgun License to anyone who lives in another state that does not issue CCW license. i.e. about seven states including New Mexico, Illinois, Missiouri. (I've heard of a Texas politician who is helping people from states farther away to get their Texas permit, as the "close state" policy is not law, just policy, and not "enforcable")"You may want to call the Texas Attorney General to find if this is true or may apply to you (512) 463-2100. Hope this helps.- Poker_Fish 0 -

It might be worthwhile for me. I could pick-up 6 more states that I would be legal in.

Back up boys. You must either own property in Texas, be a full tme student in Texas, or prove you travel and spend at least 6 months a year in Texas to get a Texas Permit. Even then, you have to pass the other 22 qualifications and an FBI background check. They don't just pass them out to non-residents.

So are you guys saying i'm basically sh-t out of luck? 0 -
Maybe not. Go to the website that poker_fish suggested and find out what permits Wisconsin honors. Then check those states and see if the will give license's to non residents. If so, do it. All I'm saying is you can't get a Texas permit without meeting other qualifications. Wisconsin does not have a reciprocity agreement with Texas, and according to the "Traveler's Guide to the Firearm Laws of the Fifty States" by J. Scott Kappas, Wisconsin does not offer reciprocty to any other state. Check out your Attorney General of Wisconsin at (608) 266 1221 to see if any laws have recently changed.

I know that in Indiana you don't need a conceal carry permit to carry an "antique" (pre-1899) or a muzzel loading pistol. There's tons of antique pistols out there. Better then nothing.
