on the side of my churchill 30-06 is stamped.30' 2.49" 18 tonscan someone tell me what it means

Have no bbl markings on Win 1892 rifle, 24" bbl, oct. The cal. of 44W.C.F. is marked on the top flat of bbl. All else looks good per Madis. Any help? Joe

These markings are British proof marks. 30 is the caliber,2.49 is the case length in inches and the 18 is operating pressure in British long tons.
