A lot depends upon the person, the weather, the location, the gun, your choice of clothing, etc. No simple answer. I carry a Glock 36 and use a small leather zipper pouch that looks like a Day-Timer or cell phone case. It lays on the grocery counter as I write a check or on the table at a restaurant. I have never had anyone pay it any attention. Works for me.

I like an inside the pants holster worn in the cross draw position. It's easy to get to, and easy to take the holster and gun off and put in a drawer or out of sight without attracting attention.

Thank you to all whom have replied. Living where it is continualy a warmer climate than other climates present unique circumstances to try and carry a firearm. Thanks again.

Hope you'll get back to view this again, as it slipped pretty far down the board. Warm climates = loose shirts with the tails out. There's currently a whole new generation of .40 S&W compact pistols that will hide well in belt holsters under loose shirts.

I always carry IWB usually carry either 5 shot 38spl or sub compact 40cal. I carry concealed everyday all day (except when at work) so comfort is very important to me and I've found IWB to be most comfortable for me in any weather.

Hey PHX. When I lived in Tucson I used a non-fanny pack, which I picked up at a hiking store. It was not BLACK and thus didn't screem GUN. A few slight modifications with a cheap holster and some velcro and it worked great with casual wear. The more colorful the better.

Once again, Thanks to all who responded. I went to the Tucson gun show, picked up a IWB, And currently trying it out as I write. So far quite comfortable. Made of Kydex. Let you know how it goes.

I carry most of the time with an old military brown shoulder holster. The strap goes across the chest and is obvious to anyone with an I.Q. of over 34 but it never seems to dawn on people. At least no body other than those who know me has ever even mentioned it,at least to me.Personally I would rather have them know it is there. As long as they don't see the gun I don't think it matters.I haven't taken it up with the police but several have seen the strap and remained mute.WE'll see.

Thanks for the input Modoc...I don't want anyone to know that I am armed for the tactical advantage. We can open carry in Arizona, but Unless hiking, I don't care to advertise my advantages. Thanks again.
