AR 15 BAYONETS

Does anyone know where to get a bayonet for a pre ban ar15 shorty?The bayo's I see(m-7,m-9 etc...) fit the full size 20' barrel rifles but do not fit properly on the 16" car's(The distance from the bayonet lug to the flash hider area is different).Is there an adapter/extension?

  I've got a bayonet for the shorty somewhere. It may be in storage. I'll try to get over there Monday to see if it's still there. If so, I'll make you a deal on it.
