STAY AWAY FROM THE MAS 49/56. That was the biggest hunk of S@#t I have ever owned. Could not shoot two in a row without a jam. If you can I would look at the FN line. They are as good as anything around and parts are plentiful. 0 -
I have had two 49/56's and did not have any feeding problems; but I got frequent slam-fires from the floating firing pin if I used my reloads with soft commercial primers.I had a beautiful Beretta BM-62, but had too much money tied up in it. Sold it and bought a Romanian AK-47 and a L1A1 FN clone. I am pleased with both. If you shoot a lot, it is hard to beat the price on 7.62x39 ammo, and .308 is available for $120/M. 0
