Have Winchester of 1917 in the closet. 30-06 with Herter muzzle brake on it. Doesn't appear to be original. Not finding much info on this production. Post some thots on the rifle. Thanks, GW. 0 -
I'm sure the 44 magnum caliber model could do the job at distances under 100 yards, if you are interested in a Winchester lever gun to knock deer down, look at the trapper series in .444 marlin,or the Winchester 1886 in 45-70,good luck and go get 'em... 0 -
Why not go with a Marlin in .450 marlin, which I personally think has the stronger reciever, for sheer knockdown, besides if you turn him over you'll just have to right him.

Have a Trapper in .44 mag. Shot eight whitetails with it over the past ten years. Five of eight went right down, the other two made about 40-50 yards before piling up dead. I'm getting about 1600 fps with 240 gr. JHP bullet. The rifle is light and handy and if you keep the shots to 0 -
If you mean physically turn him upside down, then no it will not.It will kill them wellinside 125 yards.cpermd 0
