How does one order from SOG?
Ok. Here's the question. Southern Ohio Guns has a gun I want. I haven't got an FFL, but there is a local FFL holder willing to do the transaction for fifteen bucks. HE has a fairly large store and I think he may already have his FFL registered with SOG; I'll ask him Monday. In any even, once they have his FFL- and here's where I'm confused- does he call SOG and order the gun for me, or do I call them and order direct, having them send the gun to him? I know the gun goes to him first either way. By the way, does anyone know if they charge a credit card fee at SOG?Please respond only if you have dealt with SOG or similar companies and actually KNOW the answer- don't just guess. Thanks in advance!Jon

I do this all the time. Either way will work. If the dealer's license is on file and is current, the distributor should be willing to ship to the dealer's address despite who is ordering; as long as they get paid. The law puts the responsibility on the dealer to do the paperwork and make sure applicable laws are observed. I have several customers that call distributors and say, "Ship **** to ****, my credit card number is ****". When the item comes in I call them and they come down and do the paperwork and pay my fee. Naturally I do not accept C.O.D.s---what if the customer changes his mind or moves away? Prepaid only. 0 -

Just make sure you go to the dealer before ordering and tell him how he would like to proceed some like to fill out a sales slip before YOU order some will not transfer the gun if you didn't talk to them before ordering. Just because SOG may have there ffl on file doesnt mean that the dealer wants to work with you. 0 -

If you are dealing with a gun shop they probably have to treat this as a sale and charge you sales tax for the overall cost. As stated above in addition to the price of the gun and the shipping, they may charge you a fee for their handling, the FFL form and checking you out with the local police. 0 -

I only buy C&R from SOG.
My 03 is on file there.
I send them money.
They send me a gun that arrives at my front door.
