I have a marlin 25 mn and I love it. Shoots 3/4 inch groups at 100 yards all day long. If I had to do it over again I would get the model that is tube fed rather then a clip, the clip on mine hangs out a little more than an inch, and gets in the way sometimes.Only other dislike is the heavy trigger. If you happen to find one, an old mosberg in 22 mag is great...

Why not a New Englang Firearms sportster, way cheap too, I have even seen a H&R 22 mag at a local gun show with a laminated wood stock, after I bought my NEF, the H&R was $130, I still kick myself for not going ahead and buying it, but it was a new gun, don't know what one would go for in a shop, but I love my little NEF, I also have a Winchester 52b, last years production, that shoots equally as well but way more money.

For direct from the factory accuracy check out Anshutz. I own three now. Every one a tack-driver!!!

I have a Lakefield (Canada built) that I got on partial trade for a car and it one of the most accurate guns I have ever shot at 100 yards. I have seen the same gun at Walmart for about $169.00. It is a lot more accurate than the Marlin tube feed .22mag I have that sells for well over $200.00.

When your goal is "best quality/most accurate .22 Magnum rifle," you cannot expect to get the best and most accurate for cheap. The brand that comes to mind for me is Anschutz. If that is too rich for you, there are several other suggestions above, all of which sound good. As much as I dislike Rugers, the M77/22 is a very nice rifle and accuracy is reported to be good. Give it a look. There are several variations that might fit your needs. Just a side note, you can reload smaller centerfire cartridges for no more, and maybe less, than it costs to shoot the .22 WRM.
