HELP! with French mas 49\56

TO THE GROUP - FRENCH Mas 49\56I have a question I took the gun apart for cleaning and to refinish the stock. no problems BUT the screw which holds the stock and receiver together is stuck solid! tried breakfree overnite and tapping the screwdriver to loosen Still stuck solid!! Worse case I will try to refinish with receiver attached. I am starting to strip the damn screw!!!I am assuming counterclockwise to loosen??? Am I missing something??Thx Paul
