Remington Model 710
I saw an add for these guns and was wondering what a "Button-Rifled barrel" is.Is that a new and cheaper way to riffel the barrels? Oro

Oro-No. Button rifling is one of the main ways barrels are rifled now. The others are broach rifling and hammer forging. There are folks on all sides who claim one way is better than the others, but all methods can produce highly accurate barrels.Remington takes other shortcuts to create this inexpensive rifle. Barrels are press-fit into the receiver instead of being screwed in. This works very well because the bolt lock-up is with the barrel on the 710, instead of with the receiver as on other rifles. Also the receiver is plastic instrad of steel. Makes the bolt glide easily and no strength is compromised. I've given one of these rifles a good going through and they are fine weapons for hunting. They aren't target rifles, but will withstand many years in the field and are accurate enough for the calibers they come in (i.e., hunting at distances where the calibers are effective).I think Remington has come up with the "Glock" of rifles in the 710. Remember the first reactions to the Glocks? Look how respected they are now. Just my opinion. 0
