Rem. 760 bolt

I was wondering if any of y'all could tell me how to remove the bolt from a Remington 760 pump? I'm replacing the firing pin, and just can't seem to get the bolt from the slide carrier. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  Put safety on, remove magazine,press action bar lock and open action, place rifle upside down with magazine opening upward insert a snug fitting steel pin into holes exposed in the action tube, turn counter clockwise untill tube can be removed,continue by closing action remove barrel and breech by pulling forward out of reciever. Reassemble in reverse order. Book Im getting this out of is from 1980. Hope this helps
