Polished Grip Frames

Anyone ever polish out a grip frame from a New Model Ruger Single Six? I have a Single Six with good blueing on the cylinder, barrel, and top frame, but the grip frame, trigger guard, and ejector rod housing are scratched up. These are aluminum or alloy parts that should be able to be polished out to a nice silver color like the Colt Scouts. I'd like to see pics before I give it a go. If not, I guess I'll have to use a bake on type finish to get them black again.Roy

  Bead blast it..only way too remove all the black. I`ve done a few this way, and they look good..

  Some years ago there was a used O.M. 4 3/4, 41mag Blackhawk in a store with a stainless gripframe. It was gorgeous and I regret not buying it. Polished aluminum should look equally good but being soft it may need repolishing occasionally.
