Question about 2 old .22 rifles

    There were a couple of different Stevens Crack-Shot boy's rifles. Yours sounds like the #26. I reread your post a few times thinking you were describing a 26" barrel.. the barrel should be either 18" or 20". In nice condition, that rifle is bringing $200-$300. I doubt the rat shot has hurt things too terribly, check the bore for erosion and pitting. Interestingly enough, Stevens made a smoothbore version of that gun, the #26 1/2, specifically for shot.Marlin made several models of pump .22 rifles. If you can describe it further such as exposed hammer, hammerless, takedown type, barrel length and markings, etc., I'll try to help. In any event, $50 is a good deal and if it ever comes up for sale I'd give you a nice profit.
