    Her husband also can also get 1" groups out of his contender at 150yds (so he tells me anyway).For killing:300gr. XTP24.5grs H1101260 fps out of a super Blackhawk 7.5" pipeI use magnum primers.It will will do anything short range including chevys. Kicks like a mother though.Andy

    Good reason to want a contender. I shoot a .210 grain serria in my 29 smith (I bought it back in "81") Knocked down the ram on the 200 meter range. .18grs 2400

    try 19.5gr. accurate #9, 240gr bullet

    I used a 250 grain gas checked linotype over 24 grains of H-110.Recoil was so severe it peeled the skin on the web of my hand and about 50 rounds later, sheared the sight screws on the Contender. Now I use the same bullet over 12 grains of HS-6,accurate,kills deer and will not beat me or my gun quite so bad.
