Leupold/Gilmore red dot. Extremely fast, easy to see, very accurate. Gets my vote.

Have a Simmons 4x and a Tasco 1.75-4x World Class. The Tasco does much nicer job on my 44 Mag.Also much easier sight picture.Fired between 4 to 5,000 rounds with it.Tasco World Class-$100 or less.

Relfex sights, no magnification, variable lighting condition, for fast shots. C-More or Optima2000. Red-dot sight, magnified or not, variable lighting, for fast or slow aimed shots. Aim-point, Leupold Gilmore. Traditional Pistol scopes, get illuminated reticule if you plan on low light. For slower shots (not action shooting in otherwords) I don't really like these for use on pistols, except for longer range pistol shots, like on a Taurus Raging Hornet varmint pistol, or bolt action pistols type things. I actually prefer them just for scout rifles, because there is so many better electronic scopes that can do the same and better on a handgun.

I have a burris 1.5x4 stainless on my super-redhawk and love it, it has not failed yet even with geeting pounded by my .44 mag reloads.Rich

I have a Leupold 4x on my 44 mag and wish I had went with the 2x scope now. It's plenty accurate but I don't need the extra magnification.

Guys, thanks for your input. Has anyone tried the 30mm BSA red dot? I would be mounting the sight on a 4" brl gun, so I think I will need a sight that is relatively short.redcedars

When at the range last Sun and guy had a 44 mag with a Red Dot it. After 12 rounds it was gone. Recticle's were shifted off center and would not come back.He packed it up and went home.Maybe they are not all like that but it didn't make me want to go out and buy a Red Dot.

I have a Leupold EER 2x on my Super Redhawk .44 - took it off my Desert Eagle Mark IX .44 - on either weapon it functions flawlessly! It needed only one full turn on the L-R axis to center point-of-impact at 25 yards when I mounted it on the Ruger (I was careful to return both dials to "center" before trying to sight it in).
