Looks like the gun dates to 1956, the numbers manufactured were G1-G23000. In good condition $600-$1000+

Wow!! Great gun. I inherited my Dad's Light 12 with serial number "L748" that's right #748. Best shotgun I have ever owned.

I to just bought a 12ga. Belgium Browning. On the left side of the action is Twentyweight. The only numbers I can find on it is on the bottom of the action A37 558Is that the serial number ?It has a poly choke on it that I don't like.Could I remove the poly choke and install screw in chokes ?Is this going to change the value? Thanks for any help.

The Twentyweight of course is a different model than the A5. That is the serial number, indicating manufacture during the 1950's.The PolyChoke can be removed and the barrel will probably accept thinwall choke tubes. That would depend on how the PolyChoke was installed (silver solder, probably) and if the barrel is going to have to be shortened. Of course, a ramp and bead will have to be installed as well.Since the collector value of the gun is pretty much zip anyway with the PolyChoke, doing this conversion would only affect its value as a shooter, and your personal preferences. Cost would be $100-$150.
