NOT RECOMENDED !! Not enough pop for clean kill in less than expert hands. We owe respect to our game animals to kill cleanly and cause as little suffering as possible. Also no suffering means more tender eating.

Amen to that Modoc, it is every ethical hunters responsibility for quick, clean kills. The .32-.20 don't cut it.Regards, BigTex[This message has been edited by BigTex (edited 09-19-2001).][This message has been edited by BigTex (edited 09-19-2001).]

The 32-20 is a fine little round,it is the daddy of the .218Bee you know.My dad killed a lot of gators for the ilegal hide trade, with an old levergun in 25-20.When he wore it to hell out,he had it bored to 32-20,that was likely the gun that killed more gators than any gun that ever lived.I have a few Savage rifles in 32-20,I am crazy about the round, but I would not use it on deer.
Will the last reb to leave flarda, please bring the flag?

I have the savage 25-20 sporter. would love to have a 32-20, I'd say go for it' but don't take any shots over 20 feet away, right behind the jaw

Enjoy your 32-20 Savages but if you want a gun you'll want to keep after you sell all your other guns get a Remington Model 25 in 32-20. Handloaded with the Hornady XTP at 1500-2000fps,it has to be more effective than the old factory loadings. Plinking with light loads and lead bullets is more fun than a barrel of monkeys.

Dang, every body wants my guns all the sudden.Clipper,I`ve been wanting one in 25-20,I always miss out on good ones. They are great,I also have 3 in 22 long rifle.v35,you`re right about them bein` fun plinkers,........slight bang,...1/2 a second later you hear the thud at 100 yards, and accurate.

I'm lucky enough to own a 32-20 in a 1894 Marlin takedown lever action and an Army Special Colt 6" barrel. One or both are my take along guns. They are even more fun to shoot than 22 rimfires. That is extremly hard to say for any other guns.Thunder in one and lightning in the other.

Well, my neighbor's grandson shot a whitetail doe of approximately
100 pounds with a 32-20 and the deer dropped like a rock.
Load was a 32-20 Winchester-Western 100 grain lead flatpoint at 55 yards. Put it in the right place with a 32-20
and it will do fine. I have also used that same mentioned load on smaller feral hogs and they drop real quick. It is all about shot placement.

As several have stated close range and good shot placement, the 32-20 will work but not reccomended.
