Date and value...for a friend
A friend of mine is taking care of a lady's house. As partial payment, she is willing to give him 2 different firearms. I saw both and gave him a ballpark estimate, but would like a second opinion. It's basically so he can get paid what he thinks the job is worth. He would also like the dates of production, if possible.1. Winchester Model 94 30-30, lever action, some slight rust on barrel only, partially engraved, serial #4747xxx. I would say this rifle is about 80-85%.2. AMT Automag II, 22 rimfire magnum, stainless steel, serial #M192xx. I would say this handgun is about 85-90%.I don't think either is worth a tremendous amount, but it would set my friend's mind at ease about the entire transaction. He also doesn't want to come up short for the nice lady. Thanks in advance.Jeremy

roosta, the amt came out in 1987 and would be worth $200 or less and the model 94 was made in 1979 and would be worth $150-$200 because of the condition. You stated it had some engraving? If it is not a standard model 94 and a commerative it would be worth more. Try to give a more detailed description. Hope this helps.
I spent all my money on guns, women, and beer. The rest I just wasted.wiredog70@hotmail.com0 -
wiredog - thanks for the reply. The Model 94 has some decorative engraving on the sides, but nothing special; some swirls and that's it...no names or anything. I wouldn't think it's a commemorative, which is why I didn't mention it in my initial post, but I could be wrong. I figured the rifle was about $150-200 and the pistol to be around $150. I'd never heard of AMT before I saw his, so I really didn't know what it was. I knew it wasn't anything special, though. Thanks a bunch and if you find out anything else or can tell me anything more about AMT that I can relay to him, that would be great, but it's no big deal. Much appreciated. 0
