unknown 22 cal.??

I also picked the up at the same time as the knife, I thought it was interesting but I cannot find any info on this either.It looks to be a 22 cal with octagon barrel. Barrel tips up to load. The front sight is brass. The barrel measures 20 1/2 inches with a total length of 41.The lever cocks back to front and is plated. The butt plate has a number 70 on the inside of it, that is the only mark that I can find.Between the stock and the barrel the is a cylinder of iron that is 6 inches long. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.Rose

  Check it out carefully. Can it be an air rifle?
