Solder or Braze ? ? ? ?

I made a Scope Mount of copper bar and would like to have comment's as to whether I should Braze, or Silver Solder it to the Gun Barrel.

I would drill and tap the barrel. Silver soldering or brazing would work well, but are fairly permanent, and subject the barrel to a good bit of heat. If you feel that you must solder it on, I would go with a silver bearing soft solder.DB

Electrolisis will be a bad teacher for you. Drill and tap so you can clean the subsequent corrosion away as it forms.Andy

Yep.If you solder or braze it you'll also have to reblue the gun.

And that reminds me,if you get copper into the blueing salts,you'll ruin them,so you can't do that either.
