National Firearms Co. 12ga. I have ended up with this pump shotgun and I can't find it in any book. There is no model # and it appears to be at least 30 years old. the serial is about A255000 it is kind of like a short 19" 94. If you know anything about this type of shotgun please respond.

  Without a better description and because this isn't a collectors item, I'd have to say most probably either a Savage/Stevens or a High Standard. There were others, but these two companies did a lot of no-name guns.

  I wrote Marlin to find out what happened to National Firearms Co., all of the rifles and shotguns with this marking I've read about are Marlin clones and I hope they can shed some light on were National went. Is your shotgun a Hammer model, if it is you will find that it may be a model of the Marlin 1898 shotgun, Marlin never put the model number on the original 98 and you can go to Numrich Parts to look at a disasembled picture of this shotgun.
