Mini 14 Trigger help?

I recently did a trigger job on my mini 14 (new springs). The trigger pull has been greatly reduced making the rifle much easier to shoot, but I have a problem. Every once in a while the trigger goes dead. Nothing. When this happened while shooting, I had to put my finger behind the trigger and gently move it foward. The rifle then fired as usual.I haven't fired it since, but when troubleshooting with snap caps it still happens every so often. Is this an adjustment? Any info before I visit a gunsmith would be appreciated.
