WHAT IS THE BEST SCOPE VALUE OUT THERE? Swift?
What is the best scope value out there for the money? Let's say under $100, $100 to $200, and above $200.

For the $200 range their is a guy in Colorado that sells refurbished nikon monarch scopes on e bay. I can get the info for you if you are interested. The monarch was the best quality scope I could find for the money. Leupold is obviously better but their prices stay high even on used scopes. The swift is fine in good conditions but I used one last year and it drove me off the deep end (Scope was terrible in shadows during broad daylight). I went to the best scope I could find, a Schmidt & Bender 3x12-50 (EXCELLENT).

Tasco scopes are much maligned, but they are less than $100 and work fine for me. 0 -

I have a swift 8x32x50 on a 22-250 and it is great for me, my brother has a browning a-bolt he bought from gb and it had a swift on it and still does, it works great for him. I do also have high end scopes and binos (leica) and if you can and want to spend the extra money you should. the scope should cost as much if not more than the rifle it goes on, or soooo it is said.

Just my opinion, most everyone goes with what they know works and I'm no different> to $100-Tasco Worldclass $100-200- Nikon Buckmaster and Weaver V-Series and Bushnell Elite 3200 $200 and above- Leupold, Burris, Pentax, etc..

I have just about most all of the quality scopes made on my hunting and target rifles. I believe Tasco is out of business and Bushnell is covering some of there warranty's. For the $200.00 price range go to SWFA.com or www.riflescopes.com, and see what is available. Weaver has a few, Bushnell, and you may be able to find some closeouts on Burris,, and or Leupold VX-1 scopes. 0 -
Take a look at www.bearbasin.com for decent prices or a price comparison on mid and high end optics. For the price, I think the Weaver Grand Slam is a very decent scope. All around I tend to prefer Burris Signature scopes, and save a little longer for them. 0 -

Your rifle is no better than its sights. I won't even consider a cheap scope...under any circumstances. Seen too many hunting trips screwed up by guys trying to save a buck.

P.S. All my scopes are Leupolds, but Burris are also as good. 0
