Win 1886

I have a model 1886 (I think) in 45-70. It is in poor to fair condition. Serial # is 382XX, patent date Oct 14 1884, manufacture date Jan 1885. Any idea what it is worth?

  you realy need to give more info (barrel lenght, sights, ect.) if it is all there and works its worth $300+ for the action.

  Your gun was made in 1889. It is a model 1886 by the patent dates. The chambering helps the value alot, being .45-70. If it hasnt been screwed with, that is barrel cut, parts replaced, etc...it is probably worth around $2000.00 or so. If it has been cut on or reworked that figure could drop to 12-1500. If the finish is original and in excellent shape you are headed towards the 8-10K mark. They are pretty popular up here in Montana and Ive owned a dozen or so.

  4C ranch is spot on in the ball park...that .45-70 caliber does add a premium to its value. I'd say a dirt minimum of $800 if it is nearly complete in any condition...and only up from there. Beach
