Star Firestar clip question
I have a Star Firestar handgun in 40 S&W, I have purchased several n.i.w. Interarms 7 round magazines (with the finger extension), they all hold 7 rounds but some mags will not "lock" in when inserted into the gun, take out a bullet and it locks in fine with just 6, while others with the full 7 rounds lock in fine...my question is...is there any way to adjust the spring on the mag (I'm assuming it's a spring tension thing...I could be wrong), or does it take just shooting it a few times to get the spring loosened up a little and broke in...have any of you other Firestar owners experienced this? It's really not a big deal...it's just 1 bullet but if it's supposed to hold 7 rounds then it should. Any help or suggestions from the experts would be greatly appreciatd.
Thanks in advance!!

Try locking in the clip with the slide to the rear. Then letting the slide go forward. The problem is that there is no more crush factory in the magazine with all the rounds in there. The bullet sticks up out of the top of the mag. When you insert the mag into the gun with the slide closed, the bullet is pushed down by the slide. If there is no room for it to go down, it will not allow the mag to fully seat into the gun. This sometimes happens in 1911 Officers sized guns when using 7rd mags instead of the traditional 6rd mag. 0
