Help ID S&W revolver
Can someone please help me ID this S&W revolver. Looks like a model 10, no model # on pistol SN 47xxx Adjustable sights, DA pat date dec9, 1914. 38 S&W special. bluing 100% except drag line on cylinder wood grips perfect except one medallion has some blue corrosion. 3 visable screws on cover plate.
Any one have an idea on a date of MFG?

Sounds like a pre-model 10, Military and Police revolver. 0 -
Can't be a model 10 with adjustable sights, probably a model 15

What does the front site look like (round/Square)? what marks inside of crane? what style of grip frame? are grips checkerd? what style trigger/hammer? smooth or checkerd? combat or target? that will do for a start. Where did you find ser.#? 0 -
Serial #on bottom of grip, and under ejector rod on barrel. front sight round to front, square to rear- red paint on rear doesn't look origional pinned on. square butt. firing pin mounted on hammer. L and 85873 under crane. checkered walnut grips with silver medalions. hammer spur checkered with case colors, trigger grooved with case colors. I would guess combat because of low sight profile.
