Ruger Bearcat

Hey guys. I have a Ruger Bearcat with the serial number 1774 but everything I've ready sort of confuses when I try and date it. Anyone know what year this piece was manufactured. It's definitely the older model. With such a low serial number...is it a first run? I can take pictures if needed but didn't know/think it was necessary.

  We just obtained a Ruger Bearcat with the serial #970**** (it looks like). It also has a Brass finger guard. Would you possibly know when it was made?

  Early production Bearcat late 50's early 60's worth $300 plus or minus and looks something like this:

  Thanks for info. Just wanted some assurance of authenticity. Photo shows almost identical item.
