Norinco Win M97 Trench Gun
I just saw the ad for the Norinco Win M97 trench gun in the NRA magazine. Has anyone seen this gun or had any experience with it? A good buy or headache?
Would look kool sitting in the corner of the bedroom especially with a bayonet as a home defense gun.

I was checking one out at the gun show yesturday. It is pretty neat. The man wanted $425.00 for it. I think i will check my favorite gun shop and see what they can get it for.
Norinco sells alot of thease model 97 knock offs. So they must be all right. However if I had an extra grand I would pop for the real thing.

I shot my uncles one time, and it was a blast and was 100 percent reliable. I want one of my own. There are only two things i will mention as possible drawbacks: 1 the gun seemed to shoot the left all the time, maybe the bead was not lined up correctly? 2 if your not careful when you pump the gun the bolt assembly will catch your hand, and some small but annoying cuts and bruises, which is also a prblem on the real winchesters to, and if you pay attention and grip it correctly its not a problem. good luck 0 -
They don't have the quality of wood or finish of the original, but the metal is just fine and the gun needs some shooting to smooth it out. If you like the old original this is one hell of a gun for the money. One of our local gunsmiths checked and so far all parts also interchange. The Chinese bought the original blueprints from Winchester years ago and also got the blueprints for the Model 94, Model 12, and Model 70. They also bought from Colt the blueprints for the 1911, J frame's and the Colt .32/.380 auto so popular years ago. Their copy of the Ithica 37 also isn't bad. 0 -
I have the standard model Norinco 97 and it seems like a solid replica of the original. John

I looked at a couple at Thanksgiving and was impressed with it. The oves I saw were $395 in a Police Supply store in Greensboro N.C. The only thing is I can buy a fairly nice origonal Winchester 97 for the same money. I know I can't get an origonal trech gun for that money, but I would rather have a Winchester. I have a 97 that I bought 3 years ago at a show for $175. It only has about 40% finish, but it is a take down model made in 1907 with a factory marked CYL bore 26" barrel. I use it in the cowboy matches. 0
