Which HK Should I Keep-SP 89 or 94A3?
Would like some serious feedback--from HK fans or collectors.
Bought a SMG UZI (class III) today, and will start transfer paperwork
later this week.......hopefully be able to actually get it by July '03.
First Class III that I've bought, so will be a new "paperwork" experience. And have never been fingerprinted before!!
To acquire funding what would you do?
? #1. Should I sell a NIB HK SP 89?
? #2. Should I sell a NIB HK Model 94 A3?
? #3. Should I take $'s from savings?
I guess I'm asking-Will the potential appreciation of either of the two guns be better that what a CD is earning?
(Selling wife's car isn't an option--I already asked her!)

I'm normally not prone to recommending this, but I would take the money from savings. The return on investment on genuine HK rifles is substantial and a lot more than the return you'll get in your savings acct (3-4%?). Watch the prices for the next year and see you want to cash out or not. I guarantee they'll appreciate more than your savings acct. I know it sound irresponsible, but I'm just looking at it mathematically. 0 -
I'd have to say it depends on when you bought your HK's ... the highest I've seen for the 94 is in the $4700 range, now their down to $3500 or so, the highest I've seen for the SP89 was $4100 and that was with a BUNCH of mags and accessories ... likewise they are in the $3000 range .... both of these examples are for excellent+ NIB guns, which it sounds like yours are too!
On the other hand, if you bought them "way back when" you will see some serious appreication.
As to which to sell ... I'd at least dump the 94 and have a clone built for $1200 if I still wanted that kind of shooter ... then enjoy it like you haven't done with your NIB 94 ... guns are made to shoot, not look at! I'd probably hold on to the 89 since there isn't a decent clone avaiable because of currnet weight restrictions.

I would have passed on the full uzi and purchased a registered sear for the Hk 94 and sold the sp 89 if needed. OR... I would hold off on selling anything UNTIL you get approved thru A.T.F. They will do a TRUE background check. I found out that they even called one of my teachers, one of my sisters,and some other people I had associated with to check on me. My understanding now is that A.T.F. is even looking a little harder for evidence to deny. Good luck. 0 -

Good call on the registered sear!
And if he can afford to keep both the 89 and 94, he could use the sear in either gun! (or even use the sear in a 94 clone if he absoultly has to sell something)
Only draw back is the price for the HK sear is $4-5000, and (I could be wrong but ...) it seems the last price I saw on Full-Auto UZI's was something like $2800, which wasn't too long ago.
Still if it were me, I'd be saving for the HK registered sear!
