Steel core 7.62x39 Pt. 2
Since the good Captain locked my previous topic, I'll lay to rest some of the questions and specualtions. Yes it was Wolf ammo (I should have stated that in my post). They used a magnet on the bullet itself, not the case and it stuck. I guess they'd rather be safe than sorry. As to the sparking against the backstop, the Winchester .223 that was allowable sparked on almost every round. And no, the range doesn't want to sell more ammo, because they don't carry any 7.62x39. If they did I'd have been able to shoot more than the 20 rounds I had with me. So I guess my real question is, what ammo can I buy cheaply that a magnet will not stick to?

Maybe you should disect a bullet in front of them to show it is not steel core. Make sure you let them pick it. 0
