When measuring a barrel one measures from the tip of the muzzel to what point?[?][?]

Hi. In a rifle, close the action, then run a cleaning rod into the barrel until it stops on the bolt face. Measure where it comes out of the muzzle. Same way with a pistol. A revolver is just the barrel. It doesn't include the cylinder. 0 -
To the face of the closed bolt. On a revolver to the front of the cyl. For example, on a shotgun with the bolt closed run a tape measure down the bore. When it stops take the reading at the edge of the muzzle.
